Here's an excerpt of a talk. The computer cut off the beginning. I'm sorry. Angie handed out strips of paper having to do with the different stages of the shedding of a snakeskin. She showed this video. Everyone got split up into 5 groups and spotlighted one of the stages and talked about each stages significance to them. The stages were:

1) Sheds because more growth is coming. Sheds to get rid of parasites and mites.
2) Snake becomes inactive/vision is impaired. This is a time when the snake can be unpredictable and aggressive.
3) After a week sight returns. The snake will then rub the old skin off by rubbing itself against rough and hard surfices (this is a comparatively quick process)
4) The snake MUST SHED ALL IT'S SKIN. If patches remain of the old skin it will attract parasites/make the next shed happen sooner. If the snake is unable to shed the skin on the tail it will cut off the circulation causing the snake to loose part of it's tail. The snake can not regenerate, it will be disfigured.
5) Once the old skin is gone, it would be very difficult to distinguish any visual difference in the look of the snake.

The talk comes in while group 2 (corresponding to stage #2) is sharing their observations.
